LEADERSHIP

“Leadership resides at the pinnacle of servitude.†– Joe May.  As a Servant-Leader in the Civil Engineering field, I “Dream Big.†I am an educator, innovator, mentor, motivator, and practitioner of Civil Engineering. This has shaped my worldview into identifying engineering problems and meticulously creating opportunities for solution tomorrow.

My leadership within multi-faceted environments has allowed me the opportunity to create and develop diverse teams that attend to common goals and successful completion of them. I have served as the Birmingham Branch President of ASCE where the overall mission was to promote the profession of civil engineering and serve the public through education, mentorship, and outreach.  I am currently the ECOB (Engineering Council of Birmingham) President, an organization that was founded in the 1950s to coordinate the activities and communications among local engineering societies in Birmingham, Alabama.   I have also served on the ASCE National Policy Committee for America’s Infrastructure as we continue to evaluate existing infrastructure and future needs.   I serve on the Coalition for Dam Safety in the State of Alabama. I was nominated by ASCE as the 2019 Engineer of the Year and the University of Alabama Capstone Engineering Society’s 2020 Engineer of the Year.
